»Ach dieses Licht!«, hauchte bereits der Griechenlandliebhaber Erhart Kästner, als er die ägäische Inselwelt bereiste. Und tatsächlich, das Licht ist unvergleichlich. Sonne, strahlend blauer Himmel und Meer sind untrennbar mit Hellas verbunden. Nur ein Viertel des griechischen Hoheitsgebiets entfällt auf das Festland, der Rest ist Meer, - »Inselmeer«. Über 1.300 Inseln schweben in der Ägäis und im Ionischen Meer im Dunst. Touristisch voll erschlossen sind Ziele wie Rhodos, Kós, Korfu oder Mykonos. Andere, weniger bekannte Inseln machen es Gästen einfacher, das traditionelle Griechenland zu entdecken. Jede Insel ist anders: frisch Verliebte werden Santorin bevorzugen, Partynudeln sind auf Ios oder Mykonos richtig, wer die Stille sucht, wählt vielleicht Amorgos, Sonnenanbeter dagegen Kefalloniá. Viele unterschiedliche Eindrücke kann man beim »Inselhüpfen« gewinnen, die Fährverbindungen sind meist gut, die nächste Insel nah.  Griechenland
