| St. Vincent und die Grenadinen gehören zu den Windward-Inseln und liegen südlich von St. Lucia. Wie alle Inseln dieser Gruppe ist St. Vincent vulkanischen Ursprungs. Die Landschaft ist gebirgig mit üppiger Vegetation und schwarzen Sandstränden. Der erloschene Vulkan La Soufrière (1234 m) ist die höchste Erhebung; tief unten im Krater befindet sich ein See. Die Inseln Bequia (»Beckwi« ausgesprochen), Petit Nevis, Isle à Quatre, Pigeon Island, Battowia, Baliceaux, Mustique, Petit Mustique, Savan, Canouan, Petit Canouan, Mayreau, die Tobago Cays, Union Island, Palm Island und Petit St. Vincent bilden die langgezogene Kette der Grenadinen. Alle Grenadinen haben weiße Sandstrände, klare Gewässer und üppige Vegetation. |
